Neil Wilson

IAMME.

The living story of a man remembering himself.

Not who others expect me to be.

Not who my past has defined me to be.

Not the roles I fulfill or the titles I carry.

Not the perceptions, projections or judgments of others.

I AM ME.

I honour the wisdom of my past.

I stand in the truth of my present.

I welcome the infinite possibilities of my future.

I do not need permission to exist as I am.

Complete in this moment.

Father. Explorer. Healer. Coach. Creator.
And the man beneath every title.

The story

The journey was never about becoming someone.

It was about discovering who remained when everything I believed I had to be began to fall away.

  1. The man I thought I had to be

I knew how to work. I knew how to provide. I knew how to endure. I knew how to keep going.

And somewhere within all that knowing, I lost the ability to answer one very simple question.

Who am I, when the noise settles and there is nothing left to prove?

  2. The unravelling

I didn't lose myself in a single moment. It happened in pieces. In responsibilities I never questioned. In identities I wore so well I stopped noticing what was underneath them.

I built. I held. I tried. I questioned. I watched some of what I had worked so hard to create change, fracture or disappear.

Sometimes the deepest confusion is not knowing whether you are falling apart or finally becoming honest with yourself.

  3. The depth

I studied movement. The body. Muscles, fascia, structure, function, the nervous system. And the deeper I went, the more questions I found.

My curiosity moved into emotion, identity, the subconscious, spirituality, energy and ancestry. Some discoveries brought clarity. Others brought more questions.

Depth without presence can become another place to get lost.

Not everything requires an explanation before it can be lived.

  4. The man in the mirror

Who am I without the need to be needed? When someone leaves? When I cannot fix what is happening? When I am no longer performing strength?

I began to see the difference between being responsible and being responsible for everything. Between love and self-abandonment. Between service and sacrifice.

Not everything that entered my life was mine to carry.

  5. The father

Of all the things I have been called, Father is among the most meaningful. I have coached, encouraged, protected, made mistakes and tried again. I have stood on fields and beside rinks.

How could I teach my children to be unapologetically themselves if I was still asking the world for permission to be me?

I do not need to be a perfect father to show my children what it means to be a whole human being.

  6. The shadow of the healer

What happens when the person who holds space for everyone else no longer knows where to put down his own weight?

Possibility is not agreement. Love is not an obligation for someone else to walk the path I see.

I can hold a vision without holding everyone inside it.

  7. The whispers of the ancestors

I listen for the whispers of those whose lives made mine possible. Not because I must become them, or carry every sorrow that came before me.

The past deserves honour. It does not require my imprisonment.

  8. The medicine is love

The physical. The emotional. The somatic. The energetic. The spiritual. One truth kept returning.

Love that is willing to see. Love that can stay present with discomfort. Love that allows another person to be fully themselves. And love I am willing to extend toward myself.

    The medicine is love.

  9. Authentic authority

No system can live my life for me. No teacher can make my choices. I can learn from the world without outsourcing my authority to it.

My root is sovereignty. My heart is love. My will is the courage to live them both.

  10. Then what?

Something ends. Then what? A plan fails. Then what? I make a choice. Then what?

These words do not erase what happened. They return me to the present, to the place where I still have a choice.

I do not need to know the whole future. I need to meet the next honest step.

The name I carry

I love my last name.

Wilson.

Son of Will.

William.

Will I AM.

Will. An authority I never could hold on my own.

Perhaps that is part of why WILPWR means so much to me. It carries something deeply personal: my name, my will, my power to choose how I live.

The will to choose. The will to create. The will to live. The will to be.

Neil.

Neil I AM.

For a long time I did not like the name Neil. I don't know why, and I don't need to invent a reason.

Then there is the huge implication of using I AM. Those two words have carried the weight of the sacred for thousands of years. I do not claim them for myself.

I don't look to be I AM. I look to be I AM ME.

A simple statement of affirmation. Of my existence. Of my uniqueness.

And I will come to recognize and embrace Neil. There is a story of power there, and I am still living it.

I AM ME.

What I create

Expressions, not definitions.

The things I build come from who I am. They do not decide who I am.

I used to believe the journey was about finding myself.

Then I thought it was about healing myself.

Then understanding myself.

Then becoming the highest version of myself.

Somewhere along the way, I realized I had made being myself into something I had to achieve.

Today I am still exploring. Still learning. Still making mistakes. Still discovering the depths and the lightness of this life.

But I no longer wish to postpone living until I have figured it all out.

There is an entire life to experience from here.
